Well...if MQ devs are in on it, that's cool by me, but I'd like to know so I can stop giving free help while someone else is making money. I personally don't want money, but I don't like the thought of someone else making it off my contributions, as small as they might be.

Sprite isn't a MQ developer, he's a FH frequenter, and from memory a talented one.

So it's possible he has the product eqplat is selling, and whether he's violating GPL is a joke, we violate licenses every time we run MacroQuest.

As for it looking like GHU, that's just an add on he claims to include with his modified MQ.

My only problem is him gaining his audience by hijacking the MacroQuest name.

We are legit.... FREE TRIAL!:

There is a patch tomorrow which will most likely break this trial release (see below) However here is the trial release of MQ Gold, it does not contain any of the special MQ Gold features such as /click, /teleport, /nokos, dynamic offset protector. However, it does include a hardcoded offset protection for Unlimited Enduring Breath. Please run this trial before you buy our product to make sure it runs on your computer.

It can be downloaded from...
No source is provided (so no way am I going to test it out), but he has included the GPL text file in the zip. /golfclap

This should be a big fat sign to Sony saying "we told you so" and "you should have left well enough alone".

One of the biggest rules of human nature is that if you forbid something, humans want it. Sony essentually challenged every hacker in existance to hack their game, and now they'll pay for it.

They should have left it the way it was before with MQ (non clicky) and SEQ.

this is bad :(
Sony will more than likely pay attention to this .. I mean things were at least controlled somewhat when stuff was source only.

I hope this doesn't mean I get to mash buttons again with my friggin deformed Carpal-Tunnel'd bard hands.

I don't mean to start any controversy, but can a dev please post something on this thread so we don't start speculating? Would keep our minds at ease.

stop distributing it, all you're doing is bringing more attention on us from SOE, which will make them work even harder to stop MQ. just stop.

I know why you did it for the money of course. I just think that it sucks that this is gonna cause SOE to 1 start paying more attn and banning ppl or 2 put more time into breaking the programs more often. I hope the devs get something because the name is being used.

Or at least share the source code for your ParseMouseLoc, /click, and /mousto with me Sprite. Lord knows I could use more help on it! :D

I'm making progress, but it's slow, and I do still like to actually PLAY EQ from time to time.

Verant already hates MQ, this won't change anything. I've only sold one copy so far anyways =P

But then again the site is brand new. Going to make an enchanced members section now. Perhaps going to throw in some more offsets and profitable combine macros. Then again the last few combines I have will probably get nerfed, so don't know if I want to do that. /shrug

well, if you're going to distribute it anyway, why not include the source with it? I know the GPL means nothing to folks like us that violate the EULA all the time, but still... it's a community thing.. share and share alike :D

I'll go another route with this. If you're going to distribute it, PLEASE put some security on it so that the average user that buys it cannot redistribute it (ie, serial number, registration, something).

At least then we'd have a good idea that however many pays you is the only ones using it. My biggest fear is that a million people have it.
