/sendkey up ctrl

Post by m8cr0zp8m » Fri Apr 25, 2003 10:44 am

Ok I am totally new to this macro thing (sorry posted in the wrong thread). Just trying to understand this. Question what is the function of /sendkey up ctrl? The key CTRL, I have moded so that it will work with a seperate function along with eq. Is this codeing going by the default keystroke of eq CTRL? If so what is the default command and or ability it does...

Thanks in advance

Edit: Also get this when linking to the download site... No File Packages
There are no file packages defined for this project.

Did a search of MQ and no packages are to be found. sigh

First part of your question:
Read Docu, you can find link at mainpage
--- snip ---
/sendkey <up, down> <key>
Sends a key up or down
For a list of keys, see Appendix B.
--- snip ---
because App. B is a table, i can't cut'n paste it... simple look into it.
Simple example: "/sendkey down up" means you move forward till "/sendkey up up" stops it.
CTRL is used in EQ as modifier, you need to enter another key too:
/sendkey down ctrl
/sendkey down <key you want to mod>
/sendkey up <same key>
/sendkey up ctrl
don't ask me what keys ctrl alters.... havent used it for months

Edited part of your question:
MQ was .exe earlier, you you still have such a release, you can delete it, it's useless...

1. Its sourcecode only now, if you wish a precompiled version, forgot it 8)

2. there is no tarball anymore, last source tarball was from 08.03.2003 as i remember

3. so if you willing to spend time to learn how to compile you have to get a MS Visual .NET C++ Compiler (means buy it, no warez pls).... ppl on board trying to let it run under VC6 and Dev-C++ (Freeware) , use search button to find out how..

4. because source is only CVS atm, you need a proggy like WinCVS or TortoiseCVS to get source from net. (personally have TortoiseCVS, you can grab ist at www.sourceforge.net, use searchbutton there again)

5. update your source frequently via CVS, compile it, look into this forum, into developers forum too to get most updated datastructs, .ini-settings etc...

here is noone who will give you a step-by-step personal guide, all infos are available, you only have to spend some minutes (or hours) to read the forum (older posts), read docu, readme-files, use search button and so on...

and of course, if MQ is running fine and after some days there is a EQ patch and MQ isn't working for some days properly, don't start to flame

Ehhh... thank you very much. Though I will need to read ALOT of this stuff.

Yea.. not even a hint on how to compile in C++ or delphi.. only have a networking major. Think its time to go back to school 8)

Though I would understand if EQ comes out with another broken patch MQ will be down for a few days. Hey its expected! >< /looks around.

Also word is MQ is legal as long as it is attended is this true or just another myth?

it's false, SOE can ban you for whatever they wish, whenever they wish. if a GM catches you using this, it mainly depends on their mood as to what they will do... perhaps nothing, perhaps a temporary suspension, perhaps a ban, never really know *shrug*

either way, they're going to put a soulmark on you so other GMs can see that you've been caught, and if it happens again the punishment (if any) will be more strict.

MQ is a cheat...... in some cases it is wise for SoE to look the other way, but as Valerian said, they can and will ban you for any reason they dream up. I had a friend banned for asking the GM to give him head. Darn GM had no since of humor.. bam.. /banned.

If the GMs ban all the MQ users, SoE is out several thousand dollers a month. As long as MQ is not being used to ruin the server economys, I think you will see them looking the other way.

I use MQ to play 4 or 5 characters at the same time. No real difference to anyone on the server than 4 or 5 real live peeps playing the game. EQ is not a challange unless I am directing a group rather than a single character. Think about that for a second. If everyone could do that, SoE would have 5x the subscribers. Since $$ is all SoE gives a damn about, one must wonder why they dont build in some macro commands themselfs....

Prolly saving macro and scripting for EQ2 and SWG. SOE catches up with what the players want eventually, but only when they realize someone else is making a profit off of what they could include themselves.

IANAL, but I don't think the EULA has been tested in court, and there are all sorts of contractual isues (for instance, changing the contract without bargain and consideration), so whether or not it is a violation of the contract you have with Sony is really hazy. (There are many many leagal angles you could take I think to challenge it). BUT, all that is moot if they ban you and you don't have the time/capacity/desire to take it to court. I would like to hear what a contract lawyer has to say about the EULA, I took a grad class in business law (one of the three areas of law we covered was contrats), and I know enough to know this issue is complicated well beyond my capacity, but I'm pretty sure it is arguable in court. (And hell, law is a fuzzy thing given to interpretaion, which is why you see so many appeals. When you consider that a lot, if not most, supreme court rulings are 5-4 decisions, you really begin to see how much grey area there is.)
