Older MQ // EQEMU [0.5.3] Problems

For those having trouble with CVS, I successfully downloaded it and uploaded it here:

It's uncompiled, I'm not at my EQ/SoD computer so i haven't compiled or tested it out. If somebody compiles it, let me know how it works out for SoD...

just a reminder, this is ONLY the source, IT IS NOT COMPILED.

I get incorrect client version message even with Override 1, what gives? Any ideas? Says Jan 5, 2006 version was expected - downloading that from the zip collection on the website (not cvs) and trying that.

Ok, tried the Jan 5, 2006 dated zip and I had to edit the eqgame.h and do the override in there. But that still didn't work. Instead, that zip CTD'd.

FIXED:

I did end up being able to edit the eqgame.ini file to override 1, but I had to do it using Visual Studio, instead of Notepad, for some reason Notepad changed the formatting and screwed up the MQ2.exe to where it wasnt reading it I guess. Now it's working :) Woot.

Delete the zip and start over. You screwed up the line endings.

I installed WinCVS and downloaded dec. 2003 release using these commands, now when you say that the settings are wrong, are you referring to settings that I need to change within the program or what I type into the CVS command line? Don't use wincvs. The fact that has a GUI makes is suck. The fact that it adds crap to the line endings makes it suck even harder. "Checkout text files with the Unix LF" <-- check that. It really should read "Don't fuck with the text in the files"
