Exactly what are you trying to download? If you are trying for a zip file, there isn't one currently....

That link is outdated. You MUST download it from CVS and compile it yourself. There are plenty of guides on compiling. If you don't have VS6 or .net, you can be resourceful. I repeat...you cannot download a working .exe here. =)

Hey I have a quick question myself regarding downloading the source.

I honestly dont quite understand what i have to do? Do i have to find some sorta command line program that connects to a server (much like SEQ did in Linux?) or is there another way to do this? I really dont quite grasp where im supposed to go here lol sorry.

Second question is, Where exactly is the "project" file for Macroquest? I have an older copy of the source for macroquest which I was going to try practicing on, but I honestly dont have the slightest Idea how to start. I tried opening a few of the files into VC++6 (a part of VS6) and it says I need to "attach" it to a project. But i dont know if im supposed to CREATE a project or if the macroquest source has a project somewhere already in it?

Ack, I'm thoroughly confused ;) Its a lot more difficult to me than i figured it would be :P Normally I grasp this stuff fairly quickly but not this time lol.

Hmm..I also used the search function on the boards to find a mini tutorial about how to compile it, and there are some great ones! except I dont even know how to OPEN the source files and use them? Do i open them all together? do i open them seperately and create a project? is there a project file i have to open?

I dunno if these are legitimate questions but I thought i'd ask anyway, that or if someone CAN post or hint (using keywords) what to look for to find a relatively basic tutorial on how to just get the project compiling started, that'd be great also!

One last question I guess. Would compiling MQ be just the same as compiling any other project using VC6? As in, if i just found a tutorial on google about how to start/compile a project, would learning that be helpful in learning how to compile MQ?

Thanks all for your help in advance!! Hopefully someone reads this old post :P

Take it easy

basically, if you want to use the GUI to compile, you'll need to create a project, and add all the files into it. 2 projects actually, one for macroquest and one for eqlib. there are a few obscure settings you'll need to change as well. experiment with it... you just may figure it out on your own 8)
