Does the new Macroquest use more resources that might stall or delay computers running 2 or more EQ's at one time more than it had before.
Is there so much going on now between all the memory checks that it could possibly be affecting multi-boxing.
Great work by the way

P.s. Do you think all the recent patches are a direct attempt to abolish MQ users? Like what happened with showeq before they went src only.

Well with the additions of the memcheckers it's either a defense against MQ or the offset hackers. Either way it affects us...
The fact that they threw the 3rd memcheck in the last "remove the debug code" patch goes to show that they are trying to be vigiliant in thier efforts.

The amount of extra resource usage in the new MQ is directly proportional to the number of times the EQ server requests a new memcheck packet. I don't think that happens very often, especially not often enough to actually cause a performance hit.
I dual box almost all the time, and MQ works just fine. As does any other third party software (LEQM, EQW, etc.)

They'll give up eventually :) Kindof foolish to worry about it when you have brilliant hackers like we do

ive never experienced a performance hit myself, but ive had friends tell me about some problems theyve had 3 boxing using MQ now.
How much would MQ affect performance if you were to use 3boxes or more just through the recent patch.
The entire team keeping this project alive is well worthy of a "you guys kick motherfucking ass" a high five and a beer.

I'll take the beer, thx.
3 boxing is inherently tough on a computer. My comp can baarrely do it, and it's not exactly a wimp. I really doubt that MacroQuest itself is causing such a slowdown, but I won't dismiss it out of hand. Those people should be gettin' themselves some more of them those things... what are they called? oh yeah,
computers.
