Compile issue

Post by benisthebest » Sun Nov 12, 2006 3:01 am

hey guys, im up to this part:
http://macroquest2.com/wiki/index.php/M ... :Compiling

If you installed using default directories, navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCProjectDefaults and edit corewin_express.vsprops, changing the following:
Change AdditionalDependencies="kernel32.lib" to
AdditionalDependencies="kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winspool.lib comdlg32.lib advapi32.lib shell32.lib ole32.lib oleaut32.lib uuid.lib"

I go to open the file to edit it but it wont allow me to.Any suggestion to fix problem would be greatly aprpeciated thanks =)

Start->Run: notepad "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\VCProjectDefaults\corewin_express.vsprops"

Or, hold down the shift key while right clicking on the corewin_express.vsprops file; select Open With from the context menu, select Notepad from the dialog box that pops up.

With apologies for quoting a thread out of VIP, but it seems to fit...

Possible to dumb it dowm?

I dotn mean to be overly critical here. I am a college grad. Sadly its not in programming.

Just to post a message with a new topic in "help" you need to go through so much text I started mentally blocking it by the 15th line, and there are 350 more to go.

Searching. I typed in my search term and came up with 3370 messages with the answer, and I couldnt find a single refrence to it in any of the messages I checked

Reading the wiki, I read the introduction, then clicked "compiling for free" and click right on down to that and start following hte directions. Is this method going to work or do I need to read every single line of the wiki even though its not for the compiler I am using?

Guys I have been trying for months to get this thing to run and so far still no luck. Still, I keep trying.

Absolutely positivley NO WAY to make this whole thing simpler?
