Spawn Detection

Post by OldNecro » Sun Feb 16, 2003 10:55 am

Let's say I'm surrounded by orcs who all have the same name. Another orc with the same name pops. I want to detect this, and act on that information. I don't want to scan the whole damn zone either if possible... Any way to do this?

Well, I believe that spawns have static ID's. That is, one orc is (I think) always for example 18883726. You can either go to your area first and collect all spawn ID's and then use them in your script, or you can modify the superwho function in the source to return ID's. There was much talk of this some time ago in another thread.

Anyway, then you'd set an alert for $spawn(id) and away you go. :)

Toooooooooo much trouble to me, but then I'm lazy--cuz it's not hard.
