Just got done reading at the Xylobot web site...
It seems really really advanced... What is wrong with it that makes people use MQ instead?
In no way do I want to start an argument... Just thought there may be some major bugs I don't know about or something...

Well yeah but if you're not an idiot, so is Xylobot... lol
Edit: I don't have a crack for xylobot (yet). Please stop asking me. If We get one, it will be posted on the appropriate crack web sites and forums, but NOT HERE.

Xylobot can not do a /face and can not get you distance to a target. Therefore it sucks for melee. As far as using Xylobot for tradeskills? It rules. Slower than MQ, but you never need an offset to keep it working.

Xylobot reads from the log and allows one to triger events based on those log entries. MQ can do that without needing to read the log. So what you say? Well... seems that if the logfile becomes too big, Xylobot quits working. Xylobot scripts use Delphi. It takes twice the scripting effort when compared to MQ.
One big problem with Xylobot is that it is not open source. And therefore it is not free.
Xylobot works with many games and does not touch game memory. Its a DirectX utility and I believe the only way to remotely detect it would be to grab the program process info. This would be borderline illegal and I don't think SoE has the guts....
If I can ever manage to lay hands on a copy of .NET, I will be looking at the MQ distro files and considering doing some work on a different version of MQ. I would like to strip most of the modified response (/who, /whotarget ... etc) out of MQ while keeping the funtions that I use for group melee. I think it possable to take out most of the detours and still have a powerful melee scripting function.
EDIT: I so can't spell

I /agree with a previous poster, the most important functions that I miss in Xylobot are /face and /Target I dont really need range radius and so on, and I never use any tradeskill macros, I just do simple exping.
Anyway Xylobot for me atleast is really easy to use, and the scripting is not advanced at all, there are plenty of sample scripts in the xylobot forum, to learn from, I basically run my character(s) with xylobot and in my script I only use /target and /face from MQ the rest of the actions are all xylobot controlled...
Anyway using theese 2 programs together is probably a good combination, actually if I could compile a stripped version of MQ that only offers target and face I would be well off... I might actually do that, if there is any interest Ill share the code, provided I take the time to do it... anyone else that has the time feel free to do it and share it if you get the job done before I do...
With the new changes that detect "macro" on the test server this might actually be necasary in order for me to be able to continue using my hunting script...

I do that now, and I don't use /echo in my scripts. But those modifications are still in memory. I am worried about SoEs anti hack measures that check client memory and send a reset command from the server.

Not that I have any clue on how to do this but i thought it would be useful to be able to make a cut down MQ com object that could then be called from Xylobot to pull things like HP, player loc, mob loc etc into your xylobot scripts. If you know your targets loc then implementing your own face command in delphiscript would be trivial.
Just a thought.

would you mind posting a sample that faces the mob if you know your x and y loc and you know the mobs x and y loc ?
I will work on the com object. Its the best idea I have heard for a long time, and still so obvious, this will probably defeat SOE "macro" searching aswell... xylobot isnt detected as far as I know on test server...

About Xylobot, is it capable of running on multiple EQ's on a single machine? I dual bot, and MQ has a few problems with it, but nothing I can't handle.
Xylobot doesn't do facing commands right? So my warrior pet bot macro's wouldn't be possible on it, right?
Thanks for any answers.
edit: Love that spelling!

Sometimes....I just wonder....
Xylobot has a website, documentation, and forums.... no one here is going to tell you how to use it or how to create macros for it.
