Hopefully an easy question

Post by shillin » Tue Apr 25, 2006 1:25 pm

Ok hopefully I will not get flamed to bad for asking this question but what key toggles the HUD on and off? I looked in the manual, and other places for over 2 hours and could not find it. I am using the basic compile no custom hud. Just can not remember how to turn it on/off. I got a new machine and was logging in toons to set up hot keys and such, and could not bring the dam hud up. Please help then you can flame fpr being a noob.

f11 for the hud . . . which is attached to the lagometer. f10 for the ui as a whole.

Not working

Post by shillin » Tue Apr 25, 2006 3:56 pm

Tried both before, f11 toggles the lag meter, and f10 the UI but still not seeing the hud.

Any other ideas??

Code: Select all

/classhud
Loads a class specific hud. This HUD must have a [hudname] section in MQ2HUD.ini

/defaulthud
Load the default HUD specifically

/hud normal|underui|always

normal will make the HUD display as it would normally on top of UI, not at char select or in "f10 mode"
underui will make the HUD display as normal except UNDER the UI, and not at char select or in "f10 mode"
always will make the HUD display under the UI, at char select, and in "f10 mode"

/loadhud hudname (not case sensitive)
Loads a HUD by the name hudname. This HUD must have a [hudname] section in MQ2HUD.ini

still nothing

Post by shillin » Tue Apr 25, 2006 4:39 pm

I typed /hud normal =no hud, typed /defaulthud = no hud, and various other combo. No luck.

In my folder I have the mq2hud and mq2hud.dll, am I missing something I went back and looked at old versions and did not notice anything missing.

Any other ideas?? the last version before the patch that removed the Fabled worked fine. No idea what I am doing wrong.

Any other ideas would be great thanks!! Also thanks to all how are taking the time to help!

well . . . you do have to create the hud that you want to display. I assumed that you had already done that step. Take a look at the Custom UI forum for further insight.

ok I will take a look at that, hmmm just no idea why this time no hud and in the past I had a hud. It would display GM, 5 named if spawned, target info class/level, had little pointer for direction to target, loc, and few other things.

Again thanks for help, I will keep working to figure out.

Again any input is welcome.

Peace

Then you had something other then the default mq zip, whether it be by your doing or not. There are no hud's included in the zip.

Whilst we're on the topic of the hud, is there an easy way (if someone else has done this) to instead of displaying the cloesest name, but to instead only show if a specific mob that you want to see is up? like it looks at what zone you're in, then looks to another file that has a list of the NPC's you want to see are up, and only displays them if they're up?

mq2targets in the vip section has a plugin that does just that.
