Macro that detects other MQ2 users?

Post by sonofcycle » Thu Mar 30, 2006 7:48 am

Anyone thought of this idea? A macro that would monitor abnormalities in a person's character state... couple of examples, maybe one of the things it could monitor is combat push and run speed.

Run speed, it could keep an ini table of the various movement rate ranges that a pc might be between with any given movement rate modifier item/spell in the game, probably would have to account for agi and aa's and stuff like that but if a person fell outside of the top-end range even just slightly it could spot that if you had them targeted. There may even be gaps inbetween the two extremes (slowest-fastest w/items/spells/aa) that a person shouldn't be moving at.

Combat push, could monitor a pc's push while targeted and in combat. Maybe a percentage could slowly rise per hit taken, the percentage being the likelyhood that they are using a 3rd party program to anchor themselves in place. I don't know if there are aa's for that, but it would be fairly easy to tell if they shouldn't have an AA advantage, and if the mob doesn't root and they're stuck fast, would be a good indicator.

I suppose it could monitor whether the movements of a pc fishing were more repetitive or more sporadic, and come up with the same percentage. The more often they recast at almost exactly the same time, the more likely it is they're botted. This is more just out of curiosity than anything else, I've wondered how many ppl might be using a program like mq2. And no I don't work for Sony, but I can understand the problem of posting a working macro to this extent here - although I would hope Sony could figure something like this out on their own.

Maybe if you were playing on a network and you had <10 latency. But think about how much bouncing around characters do normally. I dont think it would be very reliable, you would need their client-side info, not what your client sees.

This has got to be the dumbest idea I have ever heard.

How could runspeed be used to determine if someone is using MQ? MQ does not increase your run speed.
How can combat push? Anytank worth their salt can do this.
Fishing? Anyone who can spam a button would be identified as a bot.

I see no reason to even have this.

Don't you know that foil hat actually acts as an antenna. So don't wear any helmets if you don't want to be detected as a bot, otherwise you having that helmet on is just helping me find who you are /evilgrin.

Thanks for the reply DeeGee, good point. Was just a thought anyway.

I think, perhaps, my aluminum hat gave me brain cancer, which could be why I posted this in the first place...

/if (${Spawn[ID].Type.Equal[MQ2User]}) {
    /echo MQ2 User detected

I am fairly new to MQ but, you really dont need a script to figure out who else is using it. Pay attention eventually you can tell. But i couldnt tell for the most part who used it prior to me using it myself

Can't fix..Stupid!
