Auction Monitor! [Request Fulfilled]

Post by Amadeus » Wed Jul 03, 2002 7:17 pm

I have no idea if this is even possible, but I would like to request a macro that would 'listen' on the auction and market channels for a particular string, and then send a siren/beep/something and spam me until I turn off the macro. It should allow for wildcards (in a perfect world).

For example: /macro AuctionMonitor.mac *othmir*

As soon as someone in either auction or market had the word othmir in their chat, some sort of audible alarm would go off and I would see their chat spammed to me in red or something every 2 seconds until I turn the macro off.

An added bonus is that this macro would work without the auction/market channels being visible. (From what I've seen of ShowEQ this might be possible).

-------------

Perhaps someone else has a better way of implementing this idea, but was something that went through my head today ;)

Salutations,
Heres two macros for you, both falling under auctions...

Code: Select all

| repeatedauction.mac
| syntax: /mac repeatedauction <delay> "<msg>"
| for example /mac repeatedauction 300 "WTB ravenscale"
| will auction 'wtb ravenscale' once every 30 seconds
sub main
 /auc $p1
 /varset t0 $p0
 :aucloop
  /if $t0==0 /auc $p1
  /if $t0==0 /varset t0 $p0
 /goto :aucloop
/return

Code: Select all

| auctionsearch.mac
| searches auctions for up to 4 words
| for example: /mac auctionsearch Raven Scale Ravenscale dex
| returns only auctions that contain raven or scale or ravenscale or dex
#chat auc

sub main
 /varset v0 $p0
 /varset v1 $p1
 /varset v2 $p2
 /varset v3 $p3
 /echo Looking for auctions containing $v0 $v1 $v2 $v3
 :aucloop
  /doevents
 /goto :aucloop
/return

sub Event_Chat
 /if "$v0"!="" /if "$p2"~~"$v0" /echo $p1: $p2
 /if "$v0"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v0" /return
 /if "$v1"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v1" /echo $p1: $p2
 /if "$v1"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v1" /return
 /if "$v2"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v2" /echo $p1: $p2
 /if "$v2"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v2" /return
 /if "$v3"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v3" /echo $p1: $p2
/return
Problem with this macro is if you do
/macro auctionsearch rs
you'll also get posts that say something like
want to buy ogre wearable armors

Salutations,
you're welcome... some of the stuff i had written but never posted... you can edit the /auc in the first command and the #chat command in the second macro to change what channel your operating on, you could also probably combine the two macros...

I really havn't looked at it closely...but altering it for the new custom channels shouldn't be a problem, right? (ie, market)

just add "#chat chat" next to "#chat auc" and it will pick up stuff from all the chat channels you are in.

Salutations,
so, to make it search the auction channel, you would do this:

Code: Select all

| auctionsearch.mac
| searches auctions for up to 4 words
| for example: /mac auctionsearch auction Raven Scale Ravenscale dex
| returns only auctions that contain raven or scale or ravenscale or dex
#chat auc
#chat chat

sub main
/leave $p0
/join $p0
/varset v0 $p1
/varset v1 $p2
/varset v2 $p3
/varset v3 $p4
/echo Looking for auctions containing $v0 $v1 $v2 $v3
:aucloop
  /doevents
/goto :aucloop
/return

sub Event_Chat
/if "$v0"!="" /if "$p2"~~"$v0" /echo $p1: $p2
/if "$v0"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v0" /return
/if "$v1"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v1" /echo $p1: $p2
/if "$v1"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v1" /return
/if "$v2"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v2" /echo $p1: $p2
/if "$v2"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v2" /return
/if "$v3"!=""  /if "$p2"~~"$v3" /echo $p1: $p2
/return
Changes to syntax are just before all 4 words, put the name of the channel to search. All the code does is make sure your in the channel, other then that it doesn't use that variable, so
/macro auctionsearch auction ravenscale
all it will do is leave the auction channel (if you're in it already) and then join auction.

The macro above seems to still work properly with the new release; however, I am getting syntax errors on the /varset lines.

I did review the readme, and the changelog, and tried some different things with changing to #define, but could never get it to work correctly any other way.

The fact that it works properly, but gives the syntax errors on the /varset lines is interesting.
