How to get % of my own HP

How do I get feedback on the % of my HP while using a horse?

Anyone who got this to work while using a horse?

For me while on horse the HP % seems to always report back as 100% and thus if OOM I will cannibalize to death :?

Any help would be nice. Thank you!
