look at the frequency UI in the Custom UI section. it has what you are looking for.

one of the things that was causing my problems like this in the past was my virus program. I told it not to scan the eqgame.exe process and a lot of my issues like this went away. This does not prevent the writing of the INI file, but it does get written without the virus protection scanning it ever...

Just as an fyi...I was getting random lockups. my fix for the last version of MQ2 (6/3/04 version) was to turn off my virus protection for eqgame.exe.

There is no overide switch. That option went away when eqgame.ini was removed.
