I'm not sure about all of them, but the spaces at the ends of the strings used in the comparisons and such seemed to matter in some of genbot's operations.

If you see a line like:

String[ item spell alt ]

The assignment would need to be

/varset TempVar " item spell alt "

I agree with fearless. A rewrite of Genbot should use spell_routines.inc

Okaaaay, maybe I should rephrase that. The methods listed in that section of the docs are the ones that allowed me to concoct the manner of filtering I already have. I'm using the Length, Right, and Arg/Token methods to pull the string apart into chunks that I have to append back together again. A f...

String Manipulation

I'm looking for a good way to filter certain characters out of a given string. Suppose I start out with a string: "frag men d'ary a`la word" What's the best way of filtering it down to: "fragmendaryalaword" I figured I could clean it up in 3 passes by looking for 1 of the 3 chara...

running multiple scripts at once

Can someone point me at an example of 2 scripts interacting? I need to be able to send signals and values back and forth beween the two. I know there is a communication method between sessions, but what I'm looking for here is the way scripts running in the same session can talk. This would be somet...

I agree, cronic just put out a great explanation of where he's coming from and it makes sense. He's referring to the kind of person who really did get thier tayloring up to 200 doing it the hard way. It gives someone a real sense of accomplishment to have gone through and done it the "right&quo...

hehehe cut and paste error there, yeah. I had been using search and replace to do the initial changes in my genbot conversion, but with the new syntax changes I can see I'll need to get a little more sophisticated and dust off my oreilly perl/regex books. On a different subject though, have y...
